Creative Strategies for Multimedia & Hybrid Performance

Mentors: Ana Konstantinovic, PhD and Marija Kovacina (eho animato collective)

The training Creative Strategies for Multimedia & Hybrid Performance brought together participants interested in contemporary theatre, multimedia creation, and cinema/audiovisual techniques. Developed in line with the module Multimedia and Hybrid Performance – Creative Strategies, the program combined key theoretical concepts with hands-on creative exploration.

Participants worked with the interplay of body, image, sound, text, and space, with a strong focus on cinematic and audiovisual skills such as framing, camera work, sound design, and editing principles. They experimented with digital tools and explored how video and audio can function as active dramaturgical elements within a performance.

Each participant created an individual multimedia essay, applying one concept from the module through video, sound, movement, or text. Building on these individual explorations, the group collaboratively developed a hybrid performance sketch, combining selected elements from the essays into one shared piece. This collective process encouraged experimentation, interdisciplinary thinking, and teamwork.

The workshop fostered a dynamic environment for learning, testing ideas, and developing practical skills relevant to both performing arts and the audiovisual field.
